One of the biggest weeks on the golfing calendar sees the world’s best players convene in Augusta, Georgia, the usual home for one of the biggest prizes in the sport. Rory McIlroy goes into the week as the red-hot favourite in his bid to complete a career Grand Slam, but winning The Masters is never that easy and with 83 players going for glory, the Northern Irishman faces some big threats.

The Masters don’t come much bigger than Tiger Woods, and with the 14-time major winner looking to claim his fifth Green Jacket, he will be hoping to roll back the years and show there’s life in him yet. There are plenty of other challengers to keep a close eye on too, with world No 1 Justin Rose hotly fancied, Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari looking to repeat their Ryder Cup heroics and an army of Americans including Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and defending champion Patrick Reed looking to triumph on home soil. The days first grouping of Landry, Long and Conners move onto the back nine. Landry at level par with Long and Conners both +1.
Pars all round for Reed, Simpson and Hovland (A) as they move to the second.
Tommy Fleetwood is next up on the 1st, he’s playing alongside Schauffele and Woodland.
Birdie for Stenson! He chips in off the back edge of the green to go -1 for his round.
Garcia’s birdie putt misses to the right.
Finau sends his birdie putt past the left edge, it was a quick putt and didn’t turn as much as he was expecting. He makes par though.
Stenson just off the back of the green in two. Finau and Garcia both on the green with Garcia in the better position for his birdie putt.
Harding and Grillo both move to -2 with birdies at the 4th and 6th.
Hoffman, Oosthuizen and Leishman are the next group to set off down the first.
A bogey at the seventh for Kevin Tway gives Bjerregaard the outright lead.
Garcia misses a right-to-left putt for birdie at the second but makes par. Finau saves par with a good putt. Stenson sinks a relatively short putt to make par as well.
